Cory believes that copyright should be changed in a way that sharing digital media should be totally legal. Copyright should apply for commercial issues only in his opinion. So he is a strict opponent of DRM and a filesharing fried.

He publishes his work consequently under a Creative Commons NonCommercial ShareAlike license. This way it is legal to create derivate works and share them, as long as there is no commercial intention and the same license is applied to the new work. The free availability of his work is extremely import for his commercial success. Only who know his work buys it, he emphasizes in interviews regularily.
